Best of 2010 - Record Breaker
December 27, 2010
To break a world record once is amazing, but to break is twice within one week is ridiculous! That is just what Kenya's David Rudisha did in 2010 over 800 meters. The record formerly held by Wilson Kipketer was thought to be one of the toughest records out there.
In his first time, David Rudisha broke the 800 meter World Record in Berlin with a 1:41.09. A week later in Rieti, Italy Rudisha went at it again and this time just missed breaking the huge barrier of 1:41 with his 1:41.01! That was Rudisha's third time running sub-1:42 in 2010. Only Kipketer had run under 1:42 multiple times before this season.
