False start is a brand new interactive website focused on European track & field and road running. Rather than focussing on records and results FS looks for the personalities of European athletes. FS want to show the sweat and tears, the perseverence, the focus and determination that are behind all these results and records. We want to show the intense joy and disappointment the sport can bring. FS is focused on the artistic value of our sport.
At falsestart.tv you’ll find a different and informed look at athletics with background stories, in-depth video interviews, opinion sharing, funny photos, post-race interviews, athlete blogs, their websites and coverages of the main athletic venues.
In a sport that is dominated by Americans, Africans and Russians False Start gives a platform for European athletes and meetings that have such a long lasting history in this beautiful sport. If you want to share this multimedia experience or want to add your blog, internet site or want False Start to cover your athletic meeting, please contact us.
False Start has extensive ideas on how to change athletics in an interactive way that will attract a new generation. Are you interested in our views on how you can organize your venue so it will interact with this new internet youth, please contact us.
False Start is an idea of Vivian Ruijters, Dennis Kaspori and Stephan Kreykamp.
Vivian Ruijters is a Dutch athlete. She won different national titles from 5.000m to the marathon. Currently she is working as a freelance journalist for the largest newspaper in the Netherlands and is editor-in-chief of losseveter.nl, the most popular athletics website in The Netherlands. She believes FS can give European athletes a voice and a face again.
Dennis Kaspori is a recreational runner and a professional internet addict. He has many years of experience in developing tools that connect our virtual and physical world in different ways. He has a strong belief that social and location based media will totally change the way we experience the sport in the future.
Stephan Kreykamp was a talented junior athlete that has experience as a pacemaker for Haile Gebreselassie, as athletic journalist, and as a professional track & field manager. Kreykamps main aim with FS is to contribute towards the promotion of athletics.
